I was thinking it woud be fun and productive to open up our Palomar ride to some of the other less experienced members who would normally be intimidated by our regular fast rides.

I read on another forum that Palomar is pretty much empty now; hardly any cages, few riders and NO COPS! I'm sure that on Thanksgiving weekend VERY few people will be out there in the morning, plus the weather has been awesome lately! These are perfect conditions.

Hopefully we can get all the regulars together again, and I encourage anyone else to join us who would like to get some tips or just have a fun smooth ride. The purpose of the ride will be to introduce some noobs to group canyon riding, and to help them out with technique. We will go much slower than usual and I'm sure if anyone wants, we can follow you up and down the hill to give you some advice.

I think Friday would be the best because I'm sure NOBODY will be out there in the morning, however, some of you might be up late for Thanksgiving and some of you might even have to work. In any case, I posted a poll so we can vote on which day more people prefer. As usual we will meet at the Miramar Rd. Shell station off the 15 at 8:00am, and the Via Rancho Parkway Shell station off the 15 at 8:30.

I hope you regulars can make it and hopefully we'll see some new faces there!

We were up there on Saturday and it was great. Very little traffic both bikes and cagers. Did see one dirt dart into the mountain, nothing serious though. They have been using the plane to monitor the road around 1pm. We noticed it and decided to take off as 1 sheriff was heading up. Pretty mild to normal standards.

Riding in a big group on Palomar doesnt sound like my thing, but you might ask Wes600rr, Slaps808,Starost, or DozaDJ (hope I didnt forget anyone other than Simplepinoy whos out on a ship). They are other local guys and they might be interested. I've ridden with all of them and they are standup guys. Of all those guys Slaps808 might be the most interested.

well.. what can happen is.. we can divide in groups. those who want to go "fast" can go ahead, and those just want to take a simple ride... can go with the "noobs" of the bunch that just want to learn palomar.

with the way my knee has been acting up i hope i can make it. there is no way right now i can take a left handed turn. a left handed turn puts too much preasure on my left knee. i hope i can take some nice pain killers to avoid it.... as it is right now, things are not looking good.

Ask DozaDJ and Slaps808 about Banner grade...thats where they got their tickets....only 2 hours after I got mine 2 miles outside Julian. That was a interesting day, lol.

There really shouldn't be cops out on Palomar at 9am the day after Thanksgiving; there shouldn't be anyone out there. Banner is fun, but I think Palomar is a better experience.

Since my last race of the season is this weekend, I'm planning to convert my RR back to stock for the winter. I'll try to have it ready for this ride.
