howdy folks. i just ordered a new helmet, and had to share.

now that i have the ducati simonster s4, i wanted a funky helmet that matched the vibe of the bike. my requirements:

- funky (the monster is kinda funky)
- full face (when i crash, i'd like not to lose my face)
- flip up chin bar (around town, i want to be able to talk to chicks in convertibles at lights)
- flip down sun visor (i'm sick of carrying 2 visors around)
- vents (it can get hot when it's sunny and 75F 360 days a year!)

i looked at the roof helmets and liked the look, but no vents, no flip down sun visor. i also looked at schuberth (helmets for fat, old bmw riders) and nolan (their sun visor is ghey, makes noise, is on the outside, and is generally poopie).

so, after all that, there were only two helmets that met all the criteria: caberg justissimo and caberg trip.

the caberg trip looked a little cooler, so that'd be the one then.

Hmm, I dont like, but I guess I'm not as funky as the monster. Maybe with a dark tinted visor it would look better.

You should try the ROOF brand helmets, they're funky.

see post. i looked at the roof. i like the style, but they don't have vents or flip-down sun visors.

putting a dark main visor on would defeat the purpose, because it has that flip-down dark sun visor. evidently you can get the sun visor in iridium or mirrored finish. not sure if i'm feeling that.

but yeah, this helmet might look weird on an RR, but on a simonster on a monster, it's cooooooooolio.

i hate you both. i really needed some tender love and support. you know how delicate i can be and how much i value other opinions.

I dont like those flip ups because the gears are just plastic. They will break apart if you go down face first.

On a side note, you cant talk to chicks with a full face helmet? I have no problems with that.

these are stainless gears. it passed certification as a full face w/ the chinbar down, which is kinda cool.

i can talk to chicks w/ a full face helmet, but this way they can also see how hot i am. i've had chicks jump out of their cars and tackle me off my bike to get at little simonster and the twins. yup, i'm THAT hot. chicks just can't wait until we signal carefully and pull over in a responsible manner.

that's also why i always put frame sliders on first. my bike topples over a lot. i tried to install a kickstand that automatically deploys when the bike leans over too far, but that did funny things in the canyons.

ya, like.......swat storm trooper!, Def. get the tinted visior, that way they you can suprise them with your hideousness when you flip the top! fat chicks make bikes fall down with their presence. watch out for that.

FINALLY someone with taste!

i looked at the simpsons. cool, but lacked a lot of the features i was looking for and look too much like my car racing helmets. i wanted an aero chin area.

i got it in titanium to match the bike, and it should go well w/ the dual headlights, CF windscreen/bellypan/pipes, etc.

THAT'S why i got this helmet! da ladies wanna see my face, but i keep the dark visor down over my eyes. very ninja master/zorro-esque.

who keeps their face totally covered? darth vader. the power rangers. either ugly, ghey, or both.

i know, i know, it's almost unfair to da ladies to have this much power over them, but i gots to be me!
