So i just wanted to let everyone know that i ordered a 520 kit from sidewinder a few weeks ago and just had it put on last week. They are amazing. The customer service there was unbelievable. they set me up with one of the tech guys (alex) who answered all of my questions and gave some good suggestions as to my setup based on type of riding and height, weight etc etc. I didnt have the money at the time i spoke with alex, so he put my order through anyway and told me that it would be shipped out as soon as i was ready. called back 3 weeks later to add a master link and some lube to the order and sent the money (via credit card) over the phone on friday, and my sprockets were here by 2:00 on wednesday!!

setup includes:
(520 -1/+1 kit)

15T Titanium Front
44T Tri-Metal Rear
14000 lb Titanium "Smart" O-ring chain (overkill but whatev...)
1 extra master link
2 cans SS-51 synthetic lube

total came out to $391 and change
First gear rides soooo smooth, no shot at stalling or chugging if you dont give enough gas. revs a lil higher, shifts a lil quicker, and speedo's off. but thats all to be expected. I wouldve went more teeth in rear but i dont have a car and this is my primary transportation, (didnt want to destroy my gas mileage/top end)
overall great experience though.
and they have tons of options when considering styles, materials, and applications.

yea not pure Titanium actually.. Ti-moly is the term they use, its actually titanium chromoly alloy. supposed to be 35% lighter than steel with 6x the hardness yet not brittle. i have pic i have to upload but only the front is ti-moly, the rear is tri metal (aluminum mount, steel teeth, titanium rivets) supposed to be lighter than an all-steel yet last just as long and has lil bit of bling factor to it. wouldve went titanium rear (same price slightly lighter/stronger) but i like the look of tri-metal, plus ill be sellin the bike long before my teeth begin to wear anyway so i dont need the extra strength in the teeth.

bro sidewinder is one of the largest goudgers in the country. They resell supersprox sprockets which are also known as stealth sprockets. Their front sprockets have barely a grain of titanium in them. The steath sprockets you can pick up for 80 shipped nearly anywhere. In fact you can get full stealth sprocket chain kits for anywhere around 200 shipped or so. www.supersprox.com makes the sidewinder and stealth sprockets. sidewinder just brags them up to get the price they do. Same kits with erv3 chains can be found here for MUCH less

Just thought I would let others know. You can buy just the stealth somewhere then a front sprocket or chain or buy it as a kit. Don't think the front sprocket has enough titanium to make any form of a difference. Not trying to bust your balls but save others. I have personally weighed their front sprockets and don't let them fool you.

I have been drooling over those stealth sprockets for a while, they look the nuts. Anyone know how they compare to the Afam and sprocket specialist sprockets in terms of weight and longevity?

Since my chain is on its last leg (23K miles on the stock chain/sprockets) I was looking to do a 520 conversion. Basically the three I mentioned (stealth, afam, and sprocket specialists) are what I am looking at.

stealth/sidwinder sprockets are only a few ounces less weight then full steel so they are very heavy compared to pure alum. To put it in perspective alum sprockets are less than half the weight of a full steel sprocket and almost half the weight of a stealth/sidewinder. A good alum sprocket hard anodized will get plenty of miles if taken care of, especially on a 600cc bike. No real realson for steel sprockets. Important thing is making sure that the rear sprocket is hard anodized which afam, sprocket specialists titan tough, renthal, driven are all hard anodized that i know of. Vortex are black in color but ptfe coated (teflon) and not hard anodized. HOpe this helps.
