What is a slipper clutch do. What is it?
I think it keeps the back tire from locking up if you downshift to far and do not birp the gas. Key word: I THINK. Someone, please correct me if I am wrong.
LOL... thanks charles... actually... my last race this past weekend was AWESOME for me! No miss-shifts... but we are building a few RR FULL RACE BIKES for WSMC, etc... and these guys want it all!

slipper clutches reduce the amout of back torgue when you down shift which in essence reduces the chances of the back wheel locking up as Gecko5 said

Nick, shoot these guys an e-mail.

"With the rule change allowing Slipper Clutches in the Supersport category, we are concentrating on getting clutches available for the GSX-R600 and Honda CBR600. These will be available later this year."

OR, looks like you could get an STM one here.....

Hope this helps.
The Sigma Performance Slipper clutch runs at 882.364 USD. Looks nice! The STM hits you even harder at $1,075.00USD. I wonder what is the cost of the HRC slipper clutch? I want this mod!

Are these hard to install? I am not new to riding, but I am new to performance mods, so I do not know a lot about these. From what I hear this would be a great investment.

Question:
Does anyone think this would be good for everyday riding, aggressive, but not on the tack?

Thanks

I dont think it is worth it at all for the street unless you are doing very hard canyon riding, which in that case you should be on the track. I think this is only a track / racing mod.

The ZX-10R comes with one. I think the ZX6RR and Ducati 999R also come with it.
thanks everyone.

i'll follow-up with my STM and HRC contacts... as well as the folks at Sigma and let you know what the deal is.
STM 03-04 CBR600RR adj. wet slipper clutch kit (STM-0F3SR230B140)

STM slipper clutches maintain rear wheel contact with the ground and eliminates wheel hop when downshifting. Improve your lap times.

Our Price: $1,075.00USD (~$1,450.00CAD)

How difficult would it be to install aftermarket slipper cluth?

Can this be something you can do yourself?
