I recently snapped the idle adjustment cable on my 05 CBR 600 RR :banghead:
However, I think that the screw didnt fell off, as bike idles at 1000 RPM +/- 100 (I know it should be about 1300) One thing that bothers me (besides changing the cable, thats gonna be hard) is that headlight gets brighter when I rev it a little, while on idle headlight "blinks" a little. Also the bike rides normal, not a single problem, bike rides great on straight and on corners, also the engine runs great, it doesn't stop, it just idles on 1000 RPM.

I ordered an OEM cable and I have to wait a month for it :cursin: and a month without my toy seems like a worst nightmare.

So my question is: Can I ride the bike as it is? Would it damage my bike in any way - engine, electronics?

Also can I rise idle RPM with adjusting the throttle? Is it a good idea?
Can I adjust the idle adjustment screw without the cable? How?

Sorry for my English, Im not a native speaker :)

No need to apologise. Your English is good!

Idling at 1000rpm is quite low. However it shouldn't affect the bike too much.

I wouldn't use the throttle cable to adjust the idle personally.

Thank You Juzman :)

I am a little concerned, if 1000 RPM will affect my CBR, especially the electronics (that blinking headlight :ponder:).

Well, I too thought that touching the throttle to solve the idle problem would be a bad idea, thank You for convincing me not to do that.
