I look at Sportbikes the same way I do computers. Once you buy one its already out of date. If you try to keep up with the latest and greatest you will be buying a new bike every year. I have too much sentimental attachment to my 2004. If anything I will buy a new bike and keep the one I have now.

It's not the bike..... it's the rider!
go ahead and throw a bunch of money at a lost cause.
unless you are a pro, your not going to improve your lap times by much.
And if your not racing , who cares?

No need to grill the guy. So he wants to upgrade...so what?

lol, trust me dude.. you dont need to be a pro to improve on lap times with a newer bike. But you can go ahead and keep thinking that if you like :) I understand what your saying, you think people give up increasing skill level for newer bikes, but we dont... I increase my skill level along with increased technology, call us crazy :)

To a very small degree! Get a bike. Set up the suspension,( new springs revalve etc.....) then your on too something. I regularly blow past dudes on 999r's, milie's Gsxr1000's what ever ...on a technical track. A slow rider on a fast bike = slow rider.

Personally, I hate the looks of the '07. They'd have to sell me a huge performance hike in order for me to consider the new purchase.

I believe I may be looking into an '05-'06 that someone is unloading on a new one.

But then again, you won't see me at the local track... so I guess my answer is somewhat useless.

I care. No tracks around here except the ones that are only 1/4 mile long and straight. So looks is about all we get. So sad... So much wasted potential.

Keeping mine for a track bike (03) but going to get something more tame for the streets ie Ducati Monster. Not a fan of the 07 anyway.
