What modifications have you done? Some alterations such as changing gearing can reduce top speed.

Your not exactly a small dude but I figured it should not effect the bike that much. Could be a combination of things, poor compression due to neglect or km's, wind speed, are you in full tuck, your size, etc etc. Some others should chime in

One thread for this is enough...

You're only 30mph short of the top speed that the gearing will allow... once you consider your size and weight its hardly surprising that the bike is running out of legs by 240...

There isn't anything wrong with your bike, if you want to go faster you can spend a heap of cash upgrading bits and pieces or jump on the treadmill...

I take good care of my bike always check everything once a week..Could it be my chain that is to tight? I got a around 22000 km on it. Ow and my Icon jacket starts flapping on 200+ like crazy (almost chokes me lol) and yes im completely tucked in like a midget

I agree, your bike is fine.

I doubt you're chain is the issue, esepcially if you're maintaining it.

The drag your jacket is creating could be slowing you down a bit.

You might want to buy an aftermarket double-bubble windscreen. Even in full tuck, the oem screen doesn't provide much coverage/aero.

Also, are you shifting above 12k rpm? If you're short shifting, it'll take you longer to get to top speed.

But something you can't change, like sl66ICEcuba mentioned is, you're not a small guy. You have considerably more surface area to create drag.

That all being said, 240ish kph is pretty close to max speed on a stock rr. I beleive max speed on a stock rr is 160 mph, which is 257 kph.

IMO I call BS on anybody that says they can go a legit 280 kph/174 mph on a stock rr. It would take serious modification to get to that speed, way more than an exhaust/air filter/pc combo.

Thanks for the reply lowblow

yeah looking for a tighter jacket on the moment
and def looking for a better windscreen not sure wich you have any recommendation? And im def shifting 12+

Last wednesday i bought a pc v and i finally managed to get it to 250 Dont know if it is the pc v or just got a better run on the same road.

And i totally agree about the 280 dont know how they do it you need loads more then that indeed.
