So I have a CBR600RR 2004, 25000 km and just had 200 km ago a big maintenance. Sparkplugs have been changed. filter etc.
Before the maintenance I already had the problem.
The problem is that when my bike is cold <60°C it stalls sometimes when i ride off.( not cosed by bad shifting or so. it's usual around 500 meter-1km from take of )
The clock isn't being reset than and i can start again if i play with the throttle while starting. without playing with the throttle no start again..
I've been to honda Belgium and they were like "strange.." so not much confidence in them. Has everyone had this problem before? And what can I do to fix it :banghead:

Thanx. Xander

Probably a stupid question but have you tried adjusting the idle?
eum. stationairy it goes good. It's when I'm accelerating it suddenly stalls. Maybe it's when I clutch and it goes stationairy that it stalls. I'll keep notice when I get it next time

Can you describe what you mean by ambreyeer? (google doesn't know)

Does the bike idle high on initial startup?

Is the temp showing on the gauge correctly?

Is it throwing any DTCs?

clutch ;)
No, the idle is very slow
The temp is shown from 40°C? lower is not showed I think I assume that this is correct. As the temp stays between 80° and 110° at all time.

Ok then,

Your issue is with your idle, there may be several causes though.

Does the MIL (malfunction indicator lamp) flash any code(s)?

To check follow this procedure:

Where are you in Belgium. I live in Koekelberg and would be happy to take a look but as mentioned by others it is most certainly an idle issue. I'm not intimitely familiar with the FI system on these bikes (my background is all carbs) but it is also possible it is the cold start circuit as well but I'd have to do some more research dash see the bike to know if its that versus a simple idle adjustment issue.

It's not going to be idle adjustment given that it runs fine once at temp.

Could be ECT, MAP or ECU.

I know my cousin's bike (03 R6) would do this as well, it would start up and idle fine, but if you began riding while the temp was low on the bike, when you would shift and the rev's would drop the bike would try to stall. It would start back up and it would run fine at running temp, and idle at cold if not running it; but would stall if you did ride. No other drawbacks. Now that we both have sevaral seasons or riding it, we always let the bikes warm up before we touch them so it isn't really an issue.

You haven't mentioned what your idle is set at? 1100-1200? i've seen low idle cause issues both when cold and coming off the throttle as well as stalling issues when getting too hot (105c+). You know your idle speed adjust is a little knob on the left next to your knee?

Brugge is a bit far for -2 and snow but perhaps this weekend at 7c and sunny.

I'm just back from getting some little parts from honda ( bolts for mirror) and we've talked about my problem again. Now this one guy asked or the exhaust is stock. I told him no. And than we al realised that the exhaust ( yoshimira slip on) being different from the stock one causes this. So the sollution is re-mapping the ecu to the exhaust. But since that costt lot's of money and makes no noticeble different feeling. I am just going to speed up the idle with the adjuster thingy on the left side.

Thanx to you all.
And I hoop this thread could be useful for people who have it to.:cruising:

Is there an CBR club or something like that in Belgium?
Would love to ride with follow cbr riders in the summer. And I do ride now in the snow. Don't have a car :cruising:

No CBR club that I know of. I've only seen one 1000rr and one 600rr here in Brussels area in 9 months. There is maybe 4-5 sport tourers I see on a regular basis but no other real sport bikes. Certainly not what I was used to in the US. I have no car either, but coming from Florida I'm real hesitant to ride in the snow. I wait til the roads are good and dry and then freeze my ass of like today riding until my hands and toes are on fire.

Makes me appreciate the fine summer we had. Text me if you'd like to meet up this weekend 491 252 715.

^^^ Not real bright to put your phone number on a public forum, PM would have been a much better idea.
