ok well i got the oil in her, had my bro hold the nose while i attached all the wireing, and started her up. but not too long after SMOKE!!!!!!!!! i instantly killed the motor. and started to think
well i changed the oil and some oil dripped onto the exhaust headers ( but i thought they couldnt have possibly heated up that fast so i thouched thema nd damn they are hot) so it could be that.

you could see some smoke coming from the pipes some but it was really notiacble coming ot from where the gague cluster would be in that gap. it started to smoke first on the right side ( the side i pulled the filter from) whats goin on here, any ideas????, i dont want to have it running too much while its smoking b4 i know the problem.

Why was all the wiring off and stuff? If all you did was change the oil then it is probably spilled oil. Brake Clean the headers (and the pan by the dain bolt) then try again. If the bike was on it's side, possible why you had wiring and fairings off, then oil may have ran into the cylinders and now smoking but this would come out the tail pipe. Headers take about ten seconds before you can't even touch them they're so hot after starting the bike.

i agree its probably oil on the headers what you should do is keep the bike running for a few min the oil will burn off and while its running try the find where is the smoke coming from never touch these headers bro they get hot very quick a nasty finger burn aint cool

ok ill start it up again, it was on its side, i had a low side cracked the left cover, you dont think the integrety of the engine has been compromised, only was goign about 10 MPH (case of cold tires) its soo hard to tell where its coming from cuz it starts off small but then gets erally smoky

you should clean the pipes off after changing the oil every time, just to keep the bike clean and to keep questions like this from arising. let the thing run for a few minutes if there no leaks on the ground then you know its on the pipes and it will eventually burn off.
