So I have this Ohlins steering damper for my CBR and I want to use a attachment kit from Harris that I got. This forces me to replace a bolt that is inside a free moving round thing (cant remember the right English name of it) which is attached to the moving cylinder.

Is the inside of this round thing threaded/tapped? I can clearly see that there is Locktite in it, I already went to my local dealership and they recommended me to heat it up and try to tap it out gently with a hammer but it will not budge. This will only work if the inside is not threaded/tapped ofcourse.

Anyone had the same problem before and what was your solution?

It's not threaded. Put a socket over the head of the bolt to support the rod end, then heat it up and tap it out with a mallet. Be gentle though so you don't deform the brass inner
