Just purchased my first 600cc bike, and I went with the 2011 Honda CBR 600 RR. I’m curious do they come with a built-in steering damper? I heard that the 07 did but I’m not sure if they have them on the 2011. Please can someone shine some light on the situation for me.

07 and up come with HESD found under the gas tank cover towards the front. I removed mine and replaced with Hyperpro SD and Heatech delete for track purposes.

The damper is electronic that’s why you can’t see it like the ones that go on top of the tank

some people still change it though, if i recall right, advantage of the electronic is that it lightens at low speed so its easier to do parking speed turns, and tightens at speed. i think many tacksters change it anyway for some reason...
