I just thought i would post my results

I cleaned the tank with brake cleaner first, then rubbing alcohol, both with microfiber cloths

then I sprayed both the adhesive side on the stompgrip and the tank with a mix of water and about 6 drops dish soap

I applied the stompgrips, positioned as desired and then rubbed out the bubbles, then i applied two pieces of tape to hold them in place until the water completely dried.

As you can see they are located perfectly with absolutely no bubbles and they are very firmly attached, seems to be an easy way to put them on without issues.

with the soap and water only a light pressure is needed to remove all the air, each side took less than a minute, and i just applied light pressure with my fingers

Good to know about the job tho, as i plan on tackling this job next week when my new fairings get delivered. As wasnt 100% soap and water would be ok with the stomp grips, but you proved the theory right :)
