don't think they're illegal in all states. I've seen quite a few hardley style bikes that had that. Ugly as **** IMO.

IMO, it makes the bike look too lop-sided. I feel the same way about the harley's that have them mounted there as well. Have you thought about tucking it under the exhaust? That's what I did and I know that is illegal too...but still looks nice.

LOL, since when do Harley riders care about legality? All their pipes cause deafness to anyone within a 1/2 mile radius.

There are illegal. I'm law enforcement in WA state and that'll land you a ticket.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't there two types of aftermarket pipes? Ones with Street Baffles and one with Race Baffles. The Race ones are not street legal and clearly indicated when purchasing. :headscratch:

It certainly CAN, but most likely will not (unless the officer has a vendetta against you). A loud pipe is not something that prevents a law enforcement officer from reading your plate. This jackass modification is...

There are NO aftermarket DOT exhausts for the street. Unless it is stamped with all that fine print your stock muffler has on it, it is illegal, even if it is quieter than stock! So for all you D&D boys out there, seems like if you want an excessively loud pipe you are just asking for it.

You and I have been over this before. There is an ordinance written that states your plate must be clearly visible and readable from a distance of 30 feet. The plate must also be illuminated, so that it is readable regardless of the lighting conditions.

This plate is not readable for 2 reasons:

1. It's placed vertically instead of horizontally. This reason alone is enough to make it illegal. A plate that is placed vertically is NOT considered readable.

2. It's bent at a concave angle, making the letting difficult to distinguish.

This is the last time I'm going to argue with you on this matter.
