I just bought a pair of swingarm spools, and when I tried to mount them, I found that the right-side mount was not welded flush with the outer surface of the swingarm, while the left-side was welded flush. The right mount is welded such that the surface that contacts the base of the spool is recessed. I need to grind down a corner of the spool to ensure proper installation; otherwise the spool's corner will contact the corner of the swingarm and, with enough torque on the bolt, will probably damage the swingarm. I'll post pics if you folks need it.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Odd. Mine looked ok and when I added the swingarm spools for my Pitbull, it attached just fine. :scratch:

I am in Chicago right now (bike in SoCal), but I do not remember having a problem at all. Mine seemed flush. Now I want to go and look and I can't...DAMN!

Thanks. I wonder why they don't just weld them on flush. It's not like it's more difficult...

Anyway, I already ground down the spool. It's flush now.

Mine are a bit uneven too....but the spools fit OK! No grinding needed :!:

I didn't notice that when I added mine on...I'll have to check on it the next time I take her out.

The one was welded improperly. I just ground down a washer, and put it behind the spool, so everything sits flush now.

Just put some spools on my 03 and the Left side does not mount flush. There's a small gap all the way around.
