Quick question for the guru's. Does anybody have or know of anyone having these tank grips.

I like how they are transparent, but I'm not too sure how well they function, I don't want to get stomp grips again, they tore my knees up, I'm looking for something a little less.

Uh, it's because they don't grip like you need for TDs.

if you're wearing jeans, likely you dont need stomp grips...
+1. If you are riding aggresively enough that you feel you need stomp grips, then you need to get some leathers and knee pucks.

Thanks for the info, I think I'm gonna get a set. If it doesn't work it won't be too expensive to pull back off and trash.

Don't do it! I've tried both. Here's my $0.02:

Stomp Grip: Tons of bubbles when applied, nubs are pointy and hurt when wearing jeans (ok if wearing leathers, obviously), grip ok.

TechSpec Ice [clear]: Easier application, but if you have to peel it up and reapply in certain sections it leaves a stretchy looking pattern you can see pretty easily, grip went away and was worn off within 2 weeks.

I would try one of the other TechSpec solid (i.e. not transparent) varieties.

Hope that helps.

Umm....if you apply the stomp grip properly, then you wouldn't get bubbles. Mine has no bubbles in it at all and it looks great.

I have the TechSpec snakeskin... works great.
I am noticing a little wear on the 'nubs' where my knees grip when braking.

Why wouldn't people wearing jeans (commuting) still need to grip the tank when braking to keep 'the boys' from getting crushed?

I ride with jeans and have just installed a set of Techspec Snakeskin traction pads, and I love em. They work awesome, completly changed the ride...for the better!

LOL @ Thread revival.

& LOL @ $100 comment.

I am about to order some TechSpec C3's for my street bike which are apparently the newer version of the Snake Skin's but a little bit softer compound that lasts just as long and is less abrasive to materials.

I just want them to help me support my body position, because after a nice polishing my knees slide all over that tank like butter in a frying pan
