So I put 2 layers of dynamat under the tank cover to stop the vibration. I figured 2 would be necessary since its thin stuff. The vibration is gone however I have a slight mound in the concave part of the tank cover. Im wondering if I should pull everything back off and take a layer off or just leave it.

I would think 1 would work- but it depends on if it affects you at all- if it doesn't bug you, keep it- no biggie, good work on getting rid of the vibration.

Well heres a question for u. Will the second layer of dynamat come up off the first one? Theres that aluminum sheet in between the two layers now. If its stuck for good no point now.

No idea on that- but if its stuck, yeah, pretty pointless to take it back up.

Looking at it again, it might not even be the dynamat. That stuff is pretty hard and when i press down on that part of the tank it does move down a little. I think im just paranoid.

i had same prob when i first got my bike. i took it to the dealer and they told me they didnt hear it. so i took the cover off and hotglued a peice of foam padding to the inside of the tank cover. worked great. foam isnt too thick, maybe 1/4 - 1/2 inch. i didnt notice any bulge in the cover... although what i used is soft and compresses under pressure

If it bothers you try to peel it back. Good luck though, that $hit is like tar and no way in hell are you gonna be able to separate that.
