Here is the lowdown. I bought an '07 600rr with 17k miles, STREET RIDDEN. I wanted to get into track riding so I purchased lots of crash protection engine casings, clutch cover, sliders, and fiberglass fairings.

My concern is noone in their right mind is going to want to buy my bike which has seen only ONE beginner track day and I have ridden it only 1000 miles. Fairings are all rashed, and the headlights and front turn signals are all uninstalled, with a few locations for the headlights damaged.

Recommendations on how to sell this thing? Reason I am thinking about selling is because I've already almost died from head trauma. Doctors told me not to hit my head again and I wonder how many riders keep riding after hearing this news, but thats another topic.

Also have a couple grand of barely used nice track gear, which I will try to sell on ebay or the classifieds here.

But,
Recommendations on how to sell this thing?

Depending on how much you're thinking, I have a friend that's looking to start track riding. PM me the details and I'll pass it along.

Edit: Obviously I wasn't awake enough when I wrote this. I assumed you were at least in the mid Atlantic.

Checking your local CL for similar bikes is a good start. I'd say go with full disclosure. It's annoying to have to go out a good distance only to find out the seller didn't mention the key bits about the bike that turn out to be undesirable for a potential buyer. That helps with negotiation too since both parties are on the same page about the history of the bike. If you get a careful buyer, they'll ask the right questions and find out what you're hiding anyway. And that's just a bad way to start negotiating.

Just search for comparable bikes on craigslist and just post it up. If it doesn't have track fairings then don't even mention you brought it to the track, I mean, don't lie if they ask, but just don't announce it in the ad.

If it does have track fairings then just tell them what you told us, you rode it there once, found out that it's too risky for you and decided to sell it all off.
