Okay, the lower cable was really loose today. I need to ask the question again it seems. In this pic notice how the lower cable nut is not seated like the top one is? I ciricled the area in red that I am concerned about. It looks like it is not tight enough, but someone on here said that is how it is supposed to be. I'm sure that cable is not supposed to flop up and down normally. So, can someone check their bike and tell me if both those cable mounting nuts are to be seated against the mount as the top cable mount nut seems to be?

Screw it, it came like that from the dealer new. Only now the lower one seems to be way too lose, so I thightened the lower cable nut a bit so the cable was not flopping up and down. I guess it came a little loose, but the nut is not seated on that lower mount as the top one is. I guess this is how it is made until you tell me otherwise.

You're fine, mine came the same way. I actually took that whole piece out a while back, and that brass nut is actually pretty long; it goes deep inside the throttle housing.
