Ok, the RR is up for sale and I am actually getting a lot of people showing interest and I have narrowed it down to 2 people. One girl called and wanted to take a look. We talked and found out that she is a first time rider, wanted to take it slow, asked all the right questions and really wanted a bike that looked "cute" but only could pay $500 less than what I was asking. Another guy called and basically wanted a stunt bike but was willing to pay my asking price. So I am kinda torn between who would I sell it to. Do I take the $$$ hit and sell it to someone who will take care of it (unless she drops it) or do I let it go to someone who I KNOW will trash it. With all the mods and little touches I put in it, I would hate to see it dogged out but hey, as the saying goes - money talks and BS runs a marathon. Just wanted to get some views on this.

Oh and before someone asks, I'm not trying to hit on the girl (don't mix business with pleasure). She really seems like she wants to learn the sport so I have been trying to give her good advice. She has taken the MSF class and is going to make the jump straight to a 600.

It's a bike, sell it for all you can get and let it go.
I agree. Don't get emotionally involved with a vehicle.

I had the same problem when I sold my 72 VW Bug. She was a great car, and I thought I was selling it to someone that would take care of it.

Within a week he called me asking me if I knew a good body shop to take it to, because he spun out and kissed a light pole with it. And the shops he had taken it to before said they couldn't correctly color match the custom pearl.

Sigh.

Tell the girl you have another offer for asking price on the bike, but you'd rather sell it to her.... I have a feeling she could come up with a few hundred bucks.

I dont understand why you would care who you sell it to you. If you are so emotionaly connected to the bike why are getting rid of it. I guess I cant imagine being so attatched to somthing I am willing to get rid of.

If you are worried about who is getting it, that meens you are not ready to let it go. I did this with an 03 back in 04 and wished I didnt sell it. It got so bad I had to go out and buy another bike.

If your selling to get a newer one...go for the money. Feelings will fade as your jeeping your new bike

You guys are painting me as a pansy or something. No emotional attachment. I guess I wanted to help the girl out a little because I remember how it was when I was out buying my first bike. She reminded me of me somewhat. I can’t tell you how many scams I came across. I just didn’t want to see her done wrong. The stunter flaked out on me this afternoon anyway but I did get an offer from another guy trying to buy it for his girl this weekend. Didn’t know I was ridin around on a chick bike. Oh and since I’ve been ridin the RC51, I’ve already forgotten about the fun I had on the RR. Time to make new memories.

Its a dumb argument because you'd be hurting your bike either way (if you really care...) First time rider on a 600RR will not even use 10% of its potential. Its like having the hottest porn star naked on your bed, but you can only stick the tip in. What good is that? Its going to be dropped, stalled, etc etc all sorts of **** to it. At least the stunter would put a cage on her to protect the vitals. Go for the $$$ man, emotions have no place in the marketplace.

I feel your pain, i am trying to sell my 944 and have turned people down because they have no real interest in the car. All they see is red sports car.

:hump: :hump: bwahahaha. that's a funny analogy. but its hard to let a bike go to a stunter who will abuse the hell out of ur bike. better to a pornstar than a stunt-star. lol. but do whatever u want, its ur bike. just don't settle for less than what its worth.
