I've got armor bodies and have nothing but good things to say about them. Them and the sharkskinz come pre-primed and very smooth so it makes painting them a snap. They're a little more expensive though. The only difficult thing is they don't come pre-drilled so you have to spend a couple of hours mocking them up and drilling exactly where they need to go. The fit is fantastic and they're supposed to hold up in a crash quite well. I haven't tested that yet [knock on wood].
i have used optimal on the last 3 customers bikes ive built including my own. inexpensive and if you crash hard it doesnt matter what you have on there its going to be destroyed.
using optimal i keep my bodywork($375), paint job($300), and decals($100) around the $800 mark. here is my bike with fresh paint:
and after my crash at VIR:
and a customers 07 R6 i just finished building, (both w Optimal Bodywork)
I picked up a used set of optimals and a set of woodcraft clip ons for $200 from a member here a while back. They mounted great but are a little stiff. All in all I can't complain at that price. After a good paint job they came out great.
