Hi everyone, can anyone shed some light on this problem I'm having please?

I bought my bike used, the previous owner had flush-mount turn signals installed with the running lights wired in a way that makes them stay on all the time. The dash is lit up with solid green arrows and my front and rear signals stay on. Once I signal with them they blink as they are suppose to.

I bought the Tripage IT and installed it. However, the turn signals stays on the IT (both red and yellow) and does not blink when I turn on the signal. (The brake light works fine) Is this problem because I have the day time running lights running on all the time? would the problem fix if i got rid of the DRL? If so, would I have to open up the front signals and play around with the wiring there?

The problem is the way they wired up the front and rear signals to stay on for running lights.. They did not use diodes. Get some diodes to do this to your signals. In the meantime cut the running light wire out of the front signals. Running light wire will be in with the signal wire.

Just as a side note, you can use 1N4004 / 1N4002 / 1N4001 etc. diodes as well.

Thank you T. That seemed to be the problem and I fixed it however, I encountered a new problem =(

After adjusting and setting the different break/signal patterns on my IT, I notice that at times when i don't have the signals on, the brake light would still be signaling to one side and giving some sort of light show!

I tried turning off the bike and turning it on again and that seems to reset it. After several times signaling, the break light will end up signaling the wrong side or give some sort of light show to the ppl driving behind me lol

I also notice that when signaling I have to cancel the signal before signaling to the otherside otherwise it will be stuck on one side where as my front signals do not require to cancel the signal before switching to the otherside.

The taillights have a chip that tells the signal what program to signal in.. In some patterns you can't switch back and forth left to right. Change the pattern you are using or cancel between signaling.
