So I was out riding my bike and noticed that whenever I used my turn signals it seemed to turn on the hazard lights (both front turn signals would light up and the rear IT tailight).

I took it in to the garage and I don't see anything wrong with the wires. I'm still new to this bike so maybe there is something I'm not looking at closely enough.

Do you have led signals in the front? Only way I can see this happening is the flasher isn't completely flashing or you have a really bad short somewhere. Can you do a video to show this happening?

Yes I have led flush mounts, I removed them all together and tried the signals and still the same hazard light error. I switched them back to stock and no difference.

It's just really strange, the tailight does the same thing and the cluster also shows both arrows flashing. I'll try to upload a video soon

Do you have the OEM flasher relay?
Looks like it's flashing at normal speed so either you have an aftermarket relay installed or you have resistors that you are using to slow the speed.

I bought the bike completely stock so it still has the oem flasher relay, I haven't added any resistors or aftermarket flasher relay. I Opened up the turn signal housing and it looks to slide well without problem.

The bike shouldnt even be able to flash Hazards, its a 2005/2006 model right? Those do not come with hazards at all not even the European ones.

The only thing I could think of is that the old owner did a hazard light mod and has some switch or button hidden somewhere to toggle the hazards. There shouldn't be any connection between the left and right signals at all.

A member on this forum made a pretty nice write up on how to make a toggle switch for hazards. http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=268073

The only way my signals can blink at the same time is by my Alarm system but even there I have wires for the left side and for the right side separated.

I bet your OEM flasher relays are failing. You have led front and rear signals. You shouldn't have a normal flash rate without having a new flasher relay or resistors. The OEM relay can't flash that slow without resistance added. Looks like CA seq taillight that you have. These lights come with resistors to wire in to slow the flash rate, you didn't use them when installing? You can turn on either side and both signals flash, front and rear? And this just started out of nowhere? The flash rate is very very strange.

The only other thing that maybe could happen is the taillight is shorting on the signals and it's backfeeding to the front and turning them off. I would remove the 3 pin from the taillight and try it again first before doing anything.

It never occurred to me that the tailight may have been causing an issue, removed a wire and all works well. So looks like I need a resistor in the tail lights is my guess

I quickly learned that these bikes didn't have hazard lights which was the first red flag to me.

Last Update: So my integrated tailights have a wire for left and right signals. Earlier today I removed the left rear turn wire and like I mentioned earlier the lights worked fine. Well I connected the wire and now the lights work normally. I didn't add a resistor or change any relays, all I did was remove and insert again a turn signal wire from the tail light. Why this worked I have no idea, but it worked perfectly now and I'm not complaining.

Thanks tripage for the troubleshooting help!

You need to insulate the yellow/blue wires. Looks like you have motodynamics taillight. THe black heat shrink bulk is resistors. That is why your flash rate is normal after installing led's front and rear. Get some heat shrink to go over the blue/yellow wire and the connections and heat it up. You will be fine after that.
