I did the following mods to my 2012 cbr600rr today:


  • Two Brother's slip on M-2 Aluminum canister
  • Two Brother's juice box pro
  • Two Brother's eliminator kit
  • Flush mount turn signals
I'm running map #2 as the software suggested. My bike is running very strong now and it's very loud. Does anyone know about how much hp I would gain from these mods? I'm just curious. It seems very significant, but I know I would have run it on a dyno to know for sure. I was just curious

The flush mounted turn signals add at least 5 HP because it makes the bike more aerodynamic :p Haha, kidding. Welcome! That's a lot of mods in one day. Should be a lot more responsive, at the least, but I'm not sure how much you'd gain with everything. As you said, best to get it dyno tuned. BUT, usually, a slip-on will only add a few horsepower (5 at most?).

do this, take off all your mods & put the bike on the dyno & do a baseline run, afterwards put it all back & do another dyno run. tell us the results then. :)

nothing. You'll never feel it. Change your gearing. Slipons are for looks and noise.
maybe that's what he was goin for? maybe its a commute bike not track bike... no need to put more performance on a commuting bike, at least my thinking..

I find most everyone new to motorcycles think that bikes have an upgrade path like cars, when in truth that is not the case (and anymore, cars are not like that either, they no longer have 'free' horsepower that can be unlocked through cheap intakes and exhausts like in decades past). It takes some learnin' to find out what really does what on a bike, and then it takes learnin more than that to discover what will really make the bike better *for you* (i.e. not all upgrades are worth it, and some are only meant for certain applications)

The stock system sucked. I like the sound of the slip on and it did add a little power. As far as changing the sprocket set up; I don't see any need for that right now. That changes the rmp range and I would need a speedohealer to apply a correction factor so my speed and odometer would be right again. When I'm ready, I'll just step up to a CBR1000. By the time you spend enough money on a 600 to gain anything, you could have bought a 1000 anyway. I'm definitely not tearing into the motor or adding any boost to a new bike.
