So me and a british co-worker were talking about vehicle pricing difference in our countries. He said if a new VW Golf cost about 15k dollars in the US, they cost about 15k pounds in the UK. Thats about 23k dollars. So they end up paying more for basically the same vehicle. So I just got to wondering how much you can buy a new 600rr for in the UK. I've seen around $8500 here in the US.

Brand new w/o ABS is 8405 British pounds = 12 983.2035 U.S. dollars. It's the tax that does it.

I paid £6000 for mine when it was a year old with 2k on the clock

yeah it does. Everything's more expensive. I paid £600 ($919) for the new iPhone 4, I think they sell for $300 (£195) in the US :(.

This is one of the reasons i want to move to the US or Canada.

to be honest i'm not too hot on tax. I think its a combination of company pricing and tax.

average hourly rate here is £12 ($18.5) per hour, i'm not sure how that compares
