damn... i come home from work and check the bike out and bam! a fat screw is staring me down from the rear tire.

grrrrr.... i gave myself an excuse to get the powers because of the 1st nail but now i have to take off the ones i put on. im feeling lazy but oh well, its good thing i got that road hazard protection. sucks that i have to pay for mounting/balancing again.

Dude, that sucks the big one! I've never (knock wood) had a nail or screw in a motorcycle tire in 14 years of riding.

Don't fee bad, I got a flat tire within 500 miles of owning my bike. That was a waste of good $150. At least it was front tire not rear.

Isn't it dangerous to fix tires? I contemplated about patching it but I didn't want to risk it. A few hundred bucks isn't worth the life that I worked so hard to build up.

All I have to say is buy the tire from Cycle Gear and buy it with their Motoguard protection (10% of tire price). They'll REPLACE the tire with a new one... no questions asked (just as long as the damage doesn't look intentional). They might cost a little more than prices you can get off the net, but no one else offers this kind of piece of mind.

Check www.cyclegear.com for store locations.

Mount and balance is a low $11.99. Most places charge about $30 even if you take the wheel off yourself.
