Melandri wins back to back. and Hayden gets another podium. Rossi started in 15th and got 3rd on his backup bike. (he crashed in QP). and gibernau was well... gibernau.

Picks for next year? I gotta think the top 3 standings for next year are gonna look a whole lot like this year. Unless honda's engineers got something up their sleeve for the 800cc and it just blows yamaha [and rossi] out of the water. i just can't see rossi losing.

Yeah, but how about Melandri and Hayden?! It's amazing they've both suddenly come of age in the last part of the season. And Pedrosa turned it on in the 250s, too. I think Rossi is going to have to fight harder next year than ever before!

800cc is only for 2007, though, so the RCV will have to take on Rossi and the M1 for one more season.

I really throught Hayden was going to take Melandri in the remaining 5 laps.
But still good to see the M and H in first and second and even better seeing rossi in 3rd :)

Next year's racing is going to be awesome!!! What a great race! I just wish Nicky could have pulled it out in the end.

i too was glad to see someone besides rossi win...the guy has talent but it gets old after a while..

nicky looked like he was trying to pass several times but you could tell melandri was doing his best to close all of those gaps..that was a great race

I was impressed that Hayden decided to wait until the end of the race to really start challenging, which is what kept Rossi from coming up.. earlier races, like Qatar, where Melandri and Gibernau were fighting in 1st and 2nd gave Rossi the time to catch up and eventually take over 1st.. and the reason Rossi broke away from Hayden in Austrailia was due to Melandri gaining ground in Nicky's heels.

It looked as if NH ALMOST had it out of the last corner too.. such a good race..

That was a great race! Seems as though everyone has forgot that Colin was 4th for the season. I think it was great to see two Americans in the top five! Congrats to all the racers!! Sete too

It might just be an attitude thing, but I'd like to see him let it be known he is 'Nick' not 'Nicky', next year. More about bidness, and less about his (female) fan club....

He's been "Nicky" since he started racing flat track way back in the day. Probably because he was a little kid and thats just how little kids are refered to sometimes. Some of us grow out of it, others it sticks with them. So I dont think its about appealing to the female fans. And even if it is, whats the problem with that? We know he has the skills, let the ladies think he is cute.

I mean in fairness, most of the women I know look at the guys in the sport before they look at the sport itself. How many times have we all heard I dont know much about (insert sport here) but I think that (insert athlete name here) is sooooo cute.

i think nicky will be a force to be reckoned w/next year
+1. i've done my fair share of hayden ripping this year... I've been converted to pulling for him. I hope Melandri-Hayden develops into a Rainey-Schwantz style rivalry when rossi goes F1 racing. it'd be great for the sport.
