i have 14k on my bike right now and in the manual it says to check valves at 16k. i’m not gonna hit 16k before winter so should i just check them early at 14k? or do i REALLY even have to check them? i probably should.

I did my 2016s valve shims at 15k with oil changes every 2k and they were off by a few thousandths of an inch meaning it still ran quite but wasn’t running at it’s full potential, your intake and exhaust valve open very slightly even at spec. I went a few thousandths bigger on the intake and exhaust and replaced springs with better ones to prevent valve float at high rpm, huge difference
