You will have far bigger health problems if you approach this sport the way you have. The word mod shouldnt be in your dictionary.

First you bought the wrong bike, secondly mods dont by you safety or skill, and lastly I would have to mention that riding is something you ease into, take baby steps and end up with a life long passion. As of right now odds are against you.

the only thing I want to do is get different blinkers for the back of the bike. I originally posted that my husband wants to do all sorts of upgrades. I asked for help for my husband....LOL because he wants to start cutting and changing all sorts of things already!

Well, if thats the case.....

Mod1: take all good street plastic and e-bay it (while its unscratched)
Mod2: Buy Sharksinz
Mod3: Truck and enclosed trailer/or just truck
Mod4: Hit the track

:D

It may sound funny, but the fact that you used to ride (you said never a street bike, I assume dirt bikes?) is against you. You are comfortable with shifting and controls, yet you havent got used to road bikes..... Basically, you will feel comfortable quick, but when you are really not. And may end up in a situation when you quickly run out of talent.

just take it easy, hope it all works out
