What did you guys do with the tip over switch and the kick stand switch when you converted the RR to a race bike?

Can the kickstand switch just be cut and wired together?

Where did you mount the tip over switch, or is there a way to get rid of it?

Also did you guys use the factory upper faring stay or an aftermarket one?

Also, so I dont spend hours looking for one who make the shield with the hole covered ?

I ordered everything today other than the penski tripple clicker....Should have a busy weekend next week....parts out the arse :lol2:

I have a track day the 31st and the 1st at Jennings in Fl...will be the first time on the 600RR......After running with the Advanced guys all year w/Nesba..I might have a tuff time learning the bike and trying to keep up

Leave the tipover switch in place, it only works when the bike is on its side. The sidestand switch can just be wrapped up and zip tied away.

Use full aftermarket bodywork, the stock parts dont hold up(and $$!) in a crash.

The PenskE TriPle adjustable shock is a good buy, set it up well and it will do you fine.

The tip over switch was screwed to the center light...now that will be gone with the race body work...thinking about screwing it to the upper faring stay but wanted to see what you guys did with your first.

I ordered a set of Hotbodies..tank, fender...everything that stuffs pretty cheap..thinking krylon flat black...should be purty  Plus I can make a little cash off the stock stuff.

I thought about meeting you there Jason and riding Saturday but I checked NESBA prices and for non members that's an absolutely outrageous amount of money. Have fun at Jennings, it's a great great track - be careful on turn 1 & 8 :D

Jason,

The tip over switch can be zip-tied to the front fairing stay with no problems.

The only shield that I know of for sure for race application is Zero Gravity, but it is the non-double bubble version.

People have been having trouble with the tip-over switch on the RR. Jeff from the other forum had numerous problems with it cutting the bike off. I cut it and spliced the wires together - same for the kickstand wires. Takes about 5 minutes for both.

I also use the stock fairing bracket. I bought another one off e-bay for cheap as a spare.

And Zero Gravity is the only one that makes a race screen that covers the hole.

Get a Vortex fairing bracket as it has the mounts for the tip over switch. I shorted the kickstand switch so you dont have to worry about the bike shutting off as soon as you put it in gear. I would order a PUIG screen as it is a double bubble fits just like stock but is for race glass. Any questions let me know.

Yes indeed...

That would be me... Terry at Hi-Side Racing. This is my first year racing a Honda. One of the local dealers made me a smoking deal to put me on the RR after I blew up my kawi last year at Willow.

RR...are you sure about the PUIG screen being available for race bodywork? I have a PUIG that I got from the Laguna Seca Races last year in July, but it is for stock bodywork...did they recently make new ones for race plastic???
