So I'm going to be doing some track days next year.
I'd like to spend 130-170$ on boots.

So far its the setup vision, the oxtar TCS, or alpinestars SMX4.

It really seems like a done deal, i've heard good thing about the SMX4's.

Whats your opinion?

You can get the SMX3 from www.motostrano.com for 149 if you ask em for the barf discount when you order.

A little more protection the the smx4 in my opinion.

All good, also look into Sidi, also in your price range. I love mine, just like wearing sneakers, and they crash well too.

ive always loved A* gear and im pretty sure most will agree you cant go wrong with them

stay away from that setup thing. they look to cheap to offer real protection.
I see they already told you about the sales, look into some Sidis also.
I personally recomend you rasie the budget for your hands and feet tho. i mean u do use em for everything, why not protect them with the best.

I like my Gaerne GR-S's, but I'm not too big a fan of the rear entry zipper. I broke the rubber tab off of my left one since I was pulling too hard.

I have no prob spending a couple extra bucks...I cant spend 400$ like I would love to on Vertebras 2 though.

yes, a guy here at work just got his in the mail from some store thats having a sale, they look damn good, very impressive boots.
im a A* freak tho, i got supertechs. If you look around, and check on wera.com and such u can get a set for less than $300. check with ridersince before you buy tho, theyre mad cheap.

yup the supertechs rock, i still gotta get use to mine, ive only ridden once with them...i got mine brand new for 250 cuz some guys bike got stolen before he got to use them...sad for him, but + for me

SMX Plus and the Sidi Vertigo's. It just seemed like they didn't get tight enough around my ankle. Almost like it was just floating there.

im in a similar boat...i think most racing boots in general will help you out
