I will be renting the U-Haul motorcycle trailer in a few days for a track day. I know there is a groove in the front for the front wheel. Would this be enough to keep the bike straight, or is it a good idea to get a wheel chock as well?

It will probably be enough but I'd still put at minimum a couple sand bags around the wheel to keep it straight.

If you really want to spend a few bucks and have your bike rock solid check out the Baxley Chocks.

I've rented the u-haul moto trailer several times to cart my 600 back and forth. no need for anything but two tie downs. Even better is to get one of those web straps that fit over the handle bars. They have d-rings on the end to put your tie downs through.
