I can't help you at all but I want to thank you for making me laugh as I have this cartoon strip in my head of someone standing next to their newly re-built bike with a piston in their hands asking where does this belong... Nothing against you, just love the title of the thread. :)

I know you need two of them on the top of the tank cover...
Give me a minute to look it up.

2 short ones go to the drivers seat.
The long ones look like the ones for the exhaust hanger in the very back to hold the bracket in for the exhaust.
Not sure where the extra one goes. Just hang on to it, you will find it next time you tear it down.

What parts did you take off??? This will help out alot.
Did you put the bolts in on the side of the tank cover??? I didn't use mine after the third time taking it apart, no harm just easier to remove with less bolts.
What about the seat???? Where those in??

all plastic stuff came out for painting
the seat..under the seat, there are 2 collars... i'm refering to the collars, the bolts is another isue :p but this one's are smaller than the one's in the picture, and it's a diferent metal I guess...different colour. in th tank cover it took 4 collars total
2 more (smaller size, not in the picture) under the seat

I really can't figure out where those come from :s

Are the two longer ones for the actual tank? Did you remove the metal tank for any reason? There are some longers ones at the rear bolts.

It was my dads. I remember going with him to pick it out. That was after he waited years for a company that was going to produce replica t-birds but it didn't happen. He came out better I think. A lot of circumstances and I became the lucky owner a little over a year ago. Fun car. But not one I would want to crash in!! That must have been bad.

i pmed you... I'm with the rest of the guys.. i pretty sure none of them belong with the body work... there is just 4 on the tank that i know of...and the ones in the pictures are way to long...i'm guessing metal gas tank as well...and the rest..question mark!

o k

another lost night and I'm getting crazy with those collars
bike is break into parts again, just put the body off again to check the tank and the muffler.

before I start, thanks 600rr84 for the list ;) maybe put that in the post, think could be public interest :) and it had help me out to check if I had everything in place...and yes I do ;)

let's see, from the beginning, a summary of what happened since my crash

one year ago:
> crash, boom bang

one day after:
> goes to the honda retailer and he strip it off into pieces and told me it was 4000$ to fix it

one second latter
> I get crazy and said that I had to work hard to get the money

------------------------------------------------------------------------{part 1}

one year after:
> worked like crazy and no money :s
> picket my bike from the retailer and put in my garage (important step)
(all body was into parts, ready to paint)

- tail (taillight off the tail)
- tank cover
- front faring (headlight into pieces, also)
- mid faring
- lower
- 2 right steps, front and rear
- right handle bar
- a blue plastic bag with all the bolts, collars rubbers, clips, whatever...

------------------------------------------------------------------------{part 2}

> sent the body to repair and paint
> star fixing the handle bar, plus grip, plus throttle cable (here the gas tank was unbolt, air box...all the stuff even throttle body)
> remove muffler
> remove the plastic cover, above the muffler, around the battery, that protect the metal frame, so I could bend this back to the ok position

-----------------------------------------------------------------------{at this moment}

> I'm ate the office, my rrbaby in the garage, I'm getting crazy! :D ... and sun shines over here (don't ride for one year)

IMPORTANT CHECK-UPS I DID YESTERDAY
- collars I have don't fit anywhere in the muffler, the one that goes in the muffler are slightly bigger
- don't fit also in the tank...and the have every bolt an collar
- you know those black bolts that goes in the tank cover?! they go through a collar also, ok the collars I'm showing are slightly narrow than this one's, this black bolts can't go those.
- I did mount all the headlight and meter...no collars in there?!

...I think I got it!!! the collars belong to the blue plastic bag :D lol

dunno...any ideas or laughs or whateva would be great, and thanks for the support guys!

.am (pensamente)

If everything went back together fine, I wouldn't worry about them. They are basically to keep you from cracking body work. Keep them, it will turn up some day.

you might be on to something with the headlight....on the mounting points there are supose to be metal collars there.. do you remember if they were there or not?..They should still be in there unless the dealship pulled them out becasue they don't come out very easy...I'm not sure if they were that long though... I'd post up a picture of my headlight but it was send back to sharkskinz to get fitted to my upper...If its not that.. I say just ride you man...Think of it a weight savings
