I recently bought a 2003 600rr and did not discover this problem until this week (first bike / novice mechanic). White Smoke begins to come out of my exhaust when I am stopped and the engine temp is around 224 (F). I do not ever see the engine temp go above 226 (F) and it reaches the 210+ fairly quickly. I have been told by google that it is probably the head gasket that is the issue but I wanted to get some more opinions on the issue. If there are tests that I can do to verify where the issue is coming from that would really help.

White smoke can be indicative of burning coolant. Keep and eye on the coolant level or you can do a compression test. Additionally u can pull the plugs and check their condition to see if it's running lean. I'd bet on a suspect head gasket.

Honda uses layered steel gaskets, either the head is warped or cracked between cylinders 2 and 3 common with bad rad fluid maintenance and coolant freezing in the winter or it was abused seriously
