2012 cbr600rr I'm rebuilding from a wreck has 6k on the dash. However I found oil on the sparkplugs. Bike wasn't sluggish or having any misfires but just smokes out the exhaust. Changed the air filter made sure there was no oil in the air box. Changed the oil and coolant and it looked fine. Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm thinking valve cover gasket or head gasket I'm going to replace the plugs and see if it simmers the smoke down.

White smoke is one of two things:
1. Water/condensation cooking off. This is normal for bikes that have been sitting for awhile and will eventually go away.
2. Coolant. This means a bad head gasket and won't ever go away. Depending on what type of coolant is in the bike this smoke usually has a slightly sweet smell to it.

Burning oil is always black smoke with an acrid smell to it. It usually means your piston rings are shot and requires an engine rebuild.

There's no way for oil to get on the threads of the plugs so puzzled why yours are so oily.
