Yea ok, thats why he has been on the podium 50% of the time vs Nickys 100%. Wins do not equal championships, consistancy does. The current standings are a perfect example of this. Nicky hasnt won a race this year, yet he holds a 13 point advantage over the number 2, Capirossi, who HAS won a race this year. A 15 point lead over Pedrosa who HAS won a race this year. An 18 point lead over ANOTHER top podium finisher in Melandri. And 32 points over the final race winner this year, Valintino Rossi.

All those wins have certainly got those winners into the top spot huh?

Unless you turn into Rossi and win every race, winning doesnt mean anything. Id rather finish 2nd 3rd all year long to winning a race here and then getting 6th or 14th there. Id win the championship, unless the same guy is winning every time. Pedrosi is not going to win every race. The only guy that has a chance is Rossi.

Pedrosa is the best with a 6th place and 14th place finish while Hayden is taking 2nd and 3rds? I doubt it. The numbers tell a very different story.

I would love for Hayden to win of course since he is a fellow KY boy. If he does keep up his streak of podium finishes I hope there are a few victories. He needs to add to his sole victory. I don't believe anyone has ever won a championship in any class without winning at least one race that year.

Pedrosa is amazing too...he is racing like a man on a true mission. Rookie of the year for sure. Didn't take him long to get his first victory. Hayden will get his second victory in one of the next 3 races...my prediction. Rossi is still the man to beat.

We need an American to win this. the Europeans have too much skill when it comes to motorcycling. This sport has to be our version of baseball or football to them. When I was little I have never heard of motorcycle racing. Had I grown up in Europe my replacement for baseball would have been Motorcycle racing. It would be cool to see the Kentucky Kid take it.

I mean how do you explain a 20 yr old winning a MotoGP. It is supposed to be comprimised of the best riders from all over the world. Padrossa had to of been riding since he was like 5yrs old like most of us Americans had been playing little league.

you guys should stop doing freestyle & supercross it does little to help become smoother & faster at the corners just like the GP guys, the europeans concentrate on getting max speed through a corner & being smooth is key, acceleration riding put more emphasis on machinery rather than riding skill, those guys started out on 50cc & 80cc mini GP bikes & that teaches you how to corner with max speed, dirt track (motocross) is all about acceleration not cornering speed.

Rooting for Hayden. I'd rather see Stoner do good than Thumbelina (Pedrosa).

It was nice seeing 3 Americans in the top 5 for a change. That probably hasn't happened since Rainey/Schwantz/Lawson were racing.

hayden, but with a hint of rossi.. like you always want the underdog to unseat the champion.. but the champion is champion for a reason.. and you wanna see him stomp out the underdog.. i dunno..

anyone else a fastermovie freak and cheering their ass off for hopkins last race? 4th place.. thats awesome.. the guy's had so many problems, (err bike i should say) i was stoked for him

I have to root for the local Kentucky Kid. Hopefully Hayden can win a few races soon, to silence all the non-believers out there. Personally, I'm tired of hearing all the bull**** from all the Nicky-haters. His consistency of making it on the podiums this year speaks for itself.

Gotta go with Nicky, he is really trying to push it this year, it really showed in the last race...IMO. I hope he stays consistant, and I imagine he will win atleast one race this year (laguna).

I didn't realize how many people on here are in KY.

it's only natural to have so many KY riders when we have the best roads in the country. Just kidding...but seriously our roads are amazing. So many twists and turns...either the paver was drunk and blind or they were doing it on purpose because they are fellow riders. hehe
