Ok so a friend of mine abroad is thinking about buying an R15.

R15: its a 150 cc yamaha, taking some design (cosmetic) cues from big brothers R6 and R1.

I know this is a honda board but u guys might just have the answer for me and i dont belong to any yamaha forum.. lol

So the question is:
Could my friend replace rear wheel / tire with a wider setup.

what all will it effect. As in handling / ride.. anything to watch out for..?

any suggestions / comments would be appreciated.

thanks ya all.

He might be able to, but since I don't know, and I'm sure none of us here do, what the swingarm would allow, I'd doubt it. Larger tire on a 150cc wouldn't be the best of an idea either. So much more weight for the engine to push around, turn-in would probably go to ****, but it would be more stable.

i had a 07 CBR125R and I up 2 size on my rear tire (100 to 120). the biggest u can go is usually 2 size up.

for me the size up actually made it better as I changed it to Bridgestone from IRC.
