I am gonna give a spare 15 tooth sprocket from my '06 600RR to one of my buddies who has an '02 F4i, will it fit??

F4I stock front sprocket is a 16 Tooth I do not see why a 15 Tooth
sprocket wont work

It will work. I have an F4I sprocket on my 05 600RR. It's the same style for both bikes

actually, the stock front on an F4i is 15 tooth. so it will fit, but will be the same.

F4i stock is 15/45
600RR is 16/43

YES . . but the question now is , is it for a 530 or 525 chain ?

both bikes stock where 525... it's never been 530, that's generally reserved for liter bikes.
