i was lookin my bike over yesterday and noticed that one of the heads off one off my windscreen screws was completely missing. ive only had the bike for 3 months tops so i was pissed. i took it too the dealer and they said it was probably from over-tightening. when i said i hadnt messed with them they claimed someone probably tried to steal my windscreen. they then tried to sell me a replacement for $10 so i went accross the street and bought a whole set of red ones from a local shop for $12. im kinda pissed at my dealer right now...should i be?

If you are going to get new screws make sure they are metal. Those plastic ones are J U N K. You cant blame the dealer, they get those parts at a high price and have no other way but to pass it on to us.

No. It possibly is true that someone tried to mess with it. It could have been a defective screw, that happens rarely. Did you take it to the dealer for the first service at 600mi? They usually don't mess with those screws on the windscreen, but some knucklehead might have. What are you gonna do, right? I mean, it's not like you found it right after you took it into the dealer. These things happen...sounds like you took care of the issue..$12 bucks is nothin. I would let it go, don't be pissed at the dealer.

You cant be really upset with the dealer. However, my opion is that they pay pennies for that kind of stuff and should have just given it to you if they had one in stock. Not that big of a deal. Either way dont let it wad your panties too bad.

normally i would be too pissed but these people have already had to buff out two scratches and replace a whole mirror and one of those plastic fairing screws from when they lowered it for me. i didnt take it for the service i just bought the oil and filter from them. and yea the new screws are metal. just painted red
