OK so after taking my bike apart to do some maintenance on it, I find these thingamajigs on one of the wires on each side:

Both of them on each side are burnt like this. One of them (left) melted into the ram air tube:

Can someone tell me what this sh1t is used for and why they put it there?? :banghead:

Thanks

follow the wires... does it lead to any lights or signals?

looks like a resistor that got really hot...

I had something similar happen to my old car with LED taillights/turn signals... the resistor got hot enough to burn through the electrical tape and start smoking...

Looks like a resistor's heat effect either use the single battery compartment
(plastic ones that come in battery operated toys just take the springs out )
and it will hold the resistor alright or simply buy a turn signal relay from Tripage

I also thought it was a resistor when I first saw it. What does it connect to? Turn signal(s)?

He used resistors to slow down the turn signal blinking rate

Yep. Looks like typical resistors across turn signals as LED's don't draw enough current to flash the relay properly.

They get hot.
