Would I pass tire inspection with...

Hey guys, sorry for hounding the New Post button lately. I was wondering if my stock Dunlops with 55xx miles on them would pass inspection? NESBA and STT both are saying atleast 80% of tread life, but I've heard other people say its more about heat cycles. Sooooo I have new tires on the way, but if they dont get here on time would I pass or not?

5500 miles? + they are stock? I really doubt it unless your in the Intro group or something. They might let you slide if your in the B group but dont quote me on that.

If you end up running stockers on the track go really easy for like 3 or 4 laps because they take FOREVER to friggen warm up.
I would replace the rear tire or both at least before track riding those tires. Unless you are riding in the beginner group with a controlled pace. Even then, I'd still replace them. Better to be safe.
Alright, then I have to wait for the powers to show up. Thanks for the help guys...
The trackday organizer should have a tire vender at the track. I know stt has michelin tires at there trackdays so if the tires dont come in you could buy some at the track and use the other ones later(your going to need some more tires eventually if you plan on doing trackdays) if you have the cash. but if you have to use the street tires, do what the others said and warm them up good. Street tires have alot more grip than you think, they just take longer to warm up and they dont give you as much warning as race tires before they let go. If you could post a pic of the tires it would help to see how worn they are, but the techs are usually lenient with tread percentage on tires.
So I could take the powers I already bought (if I dont have time to put them on), and get them installed at the track? Sweeeeet.....
Just make sure you get to the installers quick at that track day. The line to have tires done can get pretty long so try to get the trailer first.
Not sure how it works for NESBA, but with WERA you have to take off your front and back wheels yourself at the track and give them to the tire guy to change, so you might want to have a front and rear stand handy. Not 100% sure about this of course, can anybody clear things up for us?
I believe with Nesba you do have to remove the wheels.
not in a million years should you ride the track on OEM street tires!!!! Even if they didn't have 5500 miles on them.

Thats a bit unfair...maybe in a thousand years once we are riding around the track on a futuristic rail system kind of like the slot cars when we played with when we were kids. ;)

Oh yeah...Get your butt some new tires or at least take them off as soon as you get to the track. No way OEM tires with that high mileage will pass inspection.
whether or not they would pass inspection it is plain foolish to ride OEM street tires on the track. Why chance crashing a $10,000 bike to save $300 on tires?
Not trying to save money, just facing possible time constraints.
CR, You'll be fine with PP or Qualifiers as long as they're a new set.
Yup, new Powers should be here by the end of this week.
