If I had a penny for the amount of times I heard the words "Is that an R6..." I would be a rich man.

I Like the laxative in the coffee, that or freeze some shaving cream and cut it open and threw it in someones desk, insta-time bomb.

They actually offered full refund for any purchasers. That means you could have riden the bike for about 3 months for free :)

LMAO...i bet they dont ride/own sportbikes huh!?! your friends are ignorant!!
if they dont ride/own....just tell them to STFU. they have no room to talk
sh!t if they dont ride. now comparing with what we ride to what the pro's
ride is just stupid....our bikes dont even come close to what those pro's
are riding. now the only thing they would have room to talk for is the
cosmetics. some like the r6 bodystyling and some like the RR. oh well...
to each their own!

f*ck*n stupid people!!!

Uhm, the current R6 is a pretty good bike. And quite honestly, on the track, it would run circles around the RR. Also technically, the R6 might be and actually be a better bike. I think overall, the R6 is better. Although, I'm putting a lot of stock in the new 07 RR to be even better than the R6. You see, we can't be so blinded by owning our own bikes to believe that our bikes will forever be good. When the R6 first came out, it was better than the F4i. I bet every F4i owner was like, "Man, that R6 sucks. Guys who read about the R6 say it's the best. I hate people like that," blah, blah, blah...

Technology advances and so does bike design. The new R6 exemplifies today's bike technology and knowledge of bike design.

R6 and R1 were a superb piece of marketting - nice simple names that sound cool and are easy to remember.

You are probable insecure to get uptight about the associations people make with different brands of motorcycles. Who gives a ****?! A twist of the wrist fixes most things.

Funny that you say that cause at a recent track day that's exactlly what happened. A guy on a shiny new 06 R6 was running circles around my RR, except he wasn't 2 wheels up and it cause him lots of broken plastics/messed up bike.

I'll stick with the amazinglly stable steering/usable power of the RR. :dancing2:

The r6 did win the AMA supersport series this year. Honda doesn't even back a bike in the AMA supersport series. In World supersport it's a dog fight between a RR and a r6 though.

I just sit there pretending to listen to them and agree with everything they say. In the process I let them think they know something, and I get a kick out of mocking um :)

Rider. Not bike. Rider.

I would venture a bet that Rossi could win a MotoGP grand champ title with a pocket bike and half-trained chimpanzees for a pit crew, and a smelly-ass orangutang as a tech lead.

What am I saying, he did that already...

This discussion about wether this bike is better than that bike and so on is totally moot. It's -all- about the rider.

haha good stuff.

but then there is always the theorycraft of comparison -- what about when the same rider rides each bike around the track? which bike can he do better with?

I suppose it would depend on how "dialed in" each bike is for that rider, and how much time in the saddle with that bike the rider has, etc... It's all about being in tune with your ride and knowing where its strengths and limits are.

SOme bikes are differant from others and some will appeal to the riders style better then others. MotoGP bikes are tailored to the rider with countless laps around various tracks to hone the suspension, engine and brakes. But thats because riders on the level of Rossi and Hayden are able to toy with bikes that would render us to at the level of some toddlers when ridden. They can give a lot of feedback to the tech crew as to how to adjust it.

Me I see how an editor of say Cycleworld and sport rider handles a bike and how they like it, because they are experianced enough to know better but are easier to understand then your average rossi or hayden; that is if u can call that average.
