ok so after getting my bike checked out at the local honda dealer, the mechanic said that my stator/generator was probably bad. so i drain the oil and take the stator case off and bring him the actual generator to double check. so now apparently he is not sure himself now. he called honda canada and told him the issue and they are not sure as well. so now they want him to run some tests with parts they send him to determine if its the regulator or the generator. my only problem is that a buddy of mine already ordered the generator and now i might not even need it so im gonna look like a douchebag and im sure he wont do that again for me. oh and if your wondering what my issue was its the charging system, something is not charging my battery.:gun1:

Special parts to test the output form the stator and rectifier? All you need is a voltmeter to check of the charging system is working, and if not, if which component is bad.

Which is why you check for continuity at the regulator.

With a good battery, if charging voltage is detected at 5,000RPM, that lets you know the stator is working. If continuity shows on the ground for the regulator, resistance is within specs for the charging line, and voltage shows on the battery charging line, either the regulator is bad or there is a current leakage elsewhere (short in the system).

Charging systems are pretty easy. The battery was tested and found to not have an open cell?

battery was load tested and failed, new battery fully charged is running at 12.3 volts. when rpm is at 5000 it shot up to 12.7

Your stator is bad. A good battery should be a little over 13V, and up to 15V when charging at 5,000RPM.
