A guy in Canada bought a set of GSXR fairings from me through eBay. When he contacted me he asked me he was looking for a bunch of other parts along with the fairings, tansk and lights I was sending him. He wanted so much stuff I had to ask what the hell he'd done to do that much damage ...

... turns out his riding buddy got hit by a "transport" - I assume this is Canadian for a bus or truck? - that had skipped a stop. His buddy was wearing a helmet Joe Rocket jacket and gloves and ... jeans and running shoes ...

The guy is doing well and will recover, he has however lost the urge to ride and sold the wrecked bike to his buddy.

This is the damage:

"he broke his c2 and shattered his ankle,, so now he has a screw in his neck and 7 in his foot aswell as the skin grafts, so hes not into riding anymore, "

... at least the jacket seemes to have done its job

He sent me a link to these pictures. (you can send the $10 I just saved you on lunch to the following paypal account ... )

PS - I did ask before posting the pictures.

Thank you so much for sharing that. We need to understand that protecting just the uppers IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Please consider and reconsider protecting the lowers. I understand it may be for a short ride or the boots/lower leathers may be uncomfortable but the more preventive measures you take the better the chances are of you surviving such incidents so you can continue to enjoy the sport for a long, LONG time.

Sorry for preaching again but I have the need to keep stressing this only cause I care.
