{DIY} Quick (seat) release

Had something rigged on my F4I, and the 2008 1000RR; however to my surprise, the 2009 600RR has a different seat setup. I've always being annoyed by the bolts that hold the seat in place, as I like to have easy and quick access to anything under the seat. Its not so much that I constantly need access, but when I do, what a PITA (specially if the battery dies while you are out, and trying to jump it).

Anyways, here's what you need in order to accomplish this easy fix:

1 - Two 6mm x 14mm 1.00 pitch Full Thread Metric Stainless Steel Socket Head Screws (I already had them, so I am not 100% positive that that is the correct size)

2 - Two Cotter Pin (safety pin) 047" x 1 9/16"

3 - One 1/6 drill bit (sorry, nor pics)

Step one, make 4 holes in a cross pattern on each socket head screw

Step two, bolt the screws on the oem seat bolt locations

Step three, put the seat in place

Step four, put each cotter pin on each socket head screw, like so:

I like the idea too but there's a tool box under the right fairing. This would be a neat mod for those who bought the bike without the tools or lost them.

This is for a simple quick release solution, meaning it replaces the traditional use of bolts holding down the seat.

Someone else a couple years back had the same thought. Looks neat, I'd do it if I had a street bike that I was tracking.
