What Headset? (PS3)

What headsets are most people using?

From reading around it seems that most people with the PS3(Sony) headset are having problems of it being too sensitive...as with hearing the background in the room on top of the person.

Any other recommendations, would something like the Jawbone work much better?

Post up what you're using and your opinions on it.

honestly, other than reliability, comfort should be your #1 concern. find one that fits your ear, because playing over an hour with one that does...starts to hurt. price i paid for getting a $5 after rebate offbrand. works great though! :)

I've got the sony one it came with Socom and i only payed $40 for the both of them (walmart). I haven't had any issues with it other than the fact that it's uncomfortable as crap. It's just not very comfy in the ear, no foam it's just like a rubber o-ring type thing that goes around it. I wan't something else.

The best headset i've ever owned was a plantronics Halo2 edition headset. That thing was super comfy, it had like 6 different silicone ear pieces. I miss that thing.

I have the wireless Sony bluetooth one myself. You can adjust the volume on the mic so you don't get all the background noise. I like it because it's pretty comfortable and wireless. Being wireless is a big deal to me so I can sit wherever and also walk to grab a drink and so forth while still having it in my ear.

Wireless is a must IMO.

I didn't know if the volume controlled what you heard on the other end or the sensitivity of the mic on your end??? I'm assuming it's the volume in your ear...

Actually the ear piece itself has a volume control on it for how loud it is in your ear and you can change your mic volume, how loud your speaking with the PS3 settings.

The problem is though, even if you find the perfect headset, you still have no one to talk to on PSN since nobody uses them...

I am going to order this very soon.

I have been wearing headphones, it helps a lot with knowing when someone is trying to sneak up....

I could care less about wireless...

I wish someone would just make a friggen adaptor so I could just plug in and use my $5 madden headset from Xbox 360 on the PS3.

Probably the most comfy headset out there

Over the ear "muffs" just gets way too warm for me haha.
I'll get the regular PS3 headset and try it out.

You won't be disappointed. Me and everybody I know that has a PS3 has the same Sony bluetooth headset. I think the ear muff style like posted above is like you said will get to warm wearing for an extended period of time. Also the ones that have the mic that comes down in front of you mouth like above picks up you breathing a lot easier. I hate when I'm racing online and I hear someone breathing into the mic the whole race .

This is the one i'm talking about too. I love all the accesability you have with it, ****FYI FOR ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES YOU HAVE TO HOOK THIS THING UP USING THE USB FIRST *NOT* BY WIRELESS**** I go back to the hurting my ears issues, i guess i have odd shaped ears. Ither way i was going to buy SOCOM anyways and i got them bundled for $40 i don't feel like i got beat and i'll keep on keepin on lol. I've played for 6 months with a joystick whose mushroom top had been broke off (i was broke in highschool), I'll survive.

Damn, the volume is surprisingly good on the PS3 headset, I'm impressed so far. Plus I couldn't beat it for $37.

I might try to find an ear "insert" for it to better fit the ear, other than that the range, volume is great.
