450w PSU? I would go to at least 800. It's recommended you have a 500w psu with your gfx card and typically you only want 80% utilization of power. Factor in your other parts, case fans and any future upgrades, you should really look into something a bit beefier imho.

I was looking at building one awhile ago. Found it cheaper to have Cyberpowerpc build it. Also if your not too tight on money try to upgrade to the LGA 2011 chipset and cpu. New this year and upgradeable from the Intel Core i7-3820 running 3.6 quad core to a 3.3 6 core and theres a chance they will continue to improve so it's upgradable.

Id check on a different case. That one is a bit small for a gaming set up..might run into cooling and upgrade issues

1000-1200w is overkill if youre just gonna run a single 670. i suggest u go 650w. get a decent 650w. like the ax650w 80plus gold from corsair for example. gtx 600 series cards consumes less power compare to previous gen cards. @ 650w 80plus gold you still have a decent headroom for overclocking. goodluck

This is the case I have, INSANE amount of airflow, optional water cooler ports and decently priced. Beef up your psu, more ram and why not go with the K series i5? Thats what I have, well worth the money.

Definitely agree with others. A 750 watt should be your minimum. You could possibly get away with A 600 watt but that's not something you should chance.

Also. Full size motherboard and a midtower or larger. Unless you have s pace requirements that force you to a smaller form factor. Larger area will run cooler and quieter (larger fans at lower rpms)

Whoever said it was cheaper to have cyberpower build their pc, you are doing something horribly wrong.

No reason to have more than 8 gigs of ram. I know it's cheap but he is on a budget.

K series is only worth it if he wants to overclock. Not really necessary. His proc won't be his bottleneck for gaming.

Do like the haf series, but a 922 is probably more his budget.

ok guys thanks for the input. many have said to bring up the PS to 1000, which i might do even if i'm on a budget.

and also the case should be bigger.

can any "bigger" case work? also what is a good 1000w power supply? i'm not sure if these parts can fit together easily or if they're universal with each other (certain brands not fitting onto other brands, etc)

i'm a big noob here.

Good list. Only thing I disagree on is gpu. Yes you could run two lower end cards, but if you want to upgrade later you have to get rid of them. With the 670 you could add a second one later on as your upgrade. Just something to think about.

It's not any more complicated than building a Lego set. If this is a first build I would recommend reading through all the part manuals. It's dry and not entirely necessary but it will give some insight and confidence when actually putting everything together.

Yeah man, I'd agree, but he only had a budget of 1k, and a 670 (least over here) is around $400. Doesn't leave much in the way of $$$ to spend on other stuff. Most low end, cheap motherboards dont come with more than one 1 PCI slot so he wont be able to add another card (plus he wont get the full output of highend card anyway dude to the bottlenecks on a lower end motherboard).

If OP wanted an absolute beast of a machine, hes looking at around 2.5-3K min, but thats a lot of dosh to hand over. What hes got listed above will run just about any game out today and will look fairly pretty.

Anyway, let us know how you go CDB, good luck. maybe hit up a PC fair or shop online, could find some cheap deals.

To me it looks ok. But to be honest, I would be asking your questions on a forum like this: http://hardforum.com/ rather than one dedicated to bikes as you would get greater quality answers.

CalmDownBro is the pc going to be used for gaming or just for work?

i would replace that samsung ram with this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145345
performs a lil better and looks much better.

i would replace your 7870 with the new gtx 660ti. much more faster just add a little more around 30$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127697
also ati - 7870 drivers sucks. nvidia drivers have much better support!

if you moving up to 1500$ might wanna check this motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131821

your psu is ok but i would get this for better results (fully modular) i hate unused excess wires
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139035

goodluck! if you have more questions u can pm me.
