Some are calling it game of the year already. Quite looking forward to playing it even though I didn't finish either 1 or 2.

I'm sorry but Bioshock 1 and 2 were definitely better. I felt Infinite never really engaged me the same as its predecessors. The developers seemed to have gotten lazy this time around and half-ass attempted to regurgitate the original story in the sky. They threw in the whole quantum mechanics and Heisenberg principle theories in a hope to keep the fans satisfied by making them think a little abstractly about parallel universes.

I had no care for the character nor the people that inhabited Columbia. The tape recordings you collect throughout the game never convinced me of the peoples plight like they did in Rapture and the small side quests were more of a chore than actual fun. The story also never sufficiently explained why the handy men were their in the first place and didn't really explain, at all, what the song bird was really about. The side bosses were lacking aside from the Siren and there were no interesting characters nor crazy plot twist from characters like Frank Fontaine or Andrew Ryan from Bioshock 1. It seems that the developer was banking off the success from the first Bioshock and severely hyped up Bioshock Infinite. Do yourselves a favor, save some money and play the first two Bioshocks instead.

****SPOILER**********

Well I kind of agree with you. I think that the first ones were far better as you said, but I think this is still a game that should be played and its far from garbage. Like you said though I found it a bit odd how they didnt add more to the story of the handyman or songbird. It did feel unfinished in that area. I actually got excited when they showed up in Rapture but that was short lived.

Not sure why you said no twists were involved, what about you being Comstock??

Your right, it wasn't all that bad, I was just expecting a whole lot more for my money. The story felt a bit rush/unfinished and definitely not as polished as the first two were. As far as the ending twist was concerned it didn't really blow me away since the story kept mentioning Quantum mechanics (existing in 2 different place at the same time), time branching of universes etc. I still recommend playing the Bioshock 1 and 2 first though.

On a positive note, the visuals were good and electrocuting enemies until their heads explode never got old.

Oh forgot to mention one last thing, why didn't they include the story of how the vigors came to be? I mean, I'm sure there's a lot of new comers to the game, are they just expected to simply accept the whole concept of the vigors without explanation? Bioshock 1 went into depth explaining plasmids as it was one of the cornerstones of the Bioshock universe.
