Bundy Ranch vs BLM Dispute

So what's your guys thoughts on this? Things seem to be heating up a bit, I guess we'll have to see what happens next...

I honestly don't have much to say about it, as its a little hard to find just straight facts about the case. Maybe someone here has a better understanding of what's going on?

Annnnnddd go!

Oh and here's some links in case you don't know what I'm talking about..

From what I heard, the guys herd has been grazing on public lands, which he should be paying a fee to the government for. Even if his cattle were grazing on someone elses private land, a fee would be negotiated.

He hasn't paid the fee since '93 and owes 1.3 million.

pay up bundy

I heard he was willing to pay the state of Nevada, but he refused to pay the fed govt.....

Payment would imply he recognized the Fed's claim.... which his Family's land use was long prior to, recognized by the state of Nevada at it's formation, and has been in continuous use by his Family for about 140 years...well before the BLM was formed....

His Family's rights to use the land need to be respected by the US Govt .....

ps; Sen. Harry Reid has an agreement / will benefit from a Chinese JV (for using the land for a power generation deal)......

I find it amusing that the federal government has nothing better to do then worry about grazing cattle. Not as if illegal immigration down in that area is a problem or anything, or drug smuggling exc exc...

They'll give the ranchers money to the illegals. It's the Obama way.
