Regulator stator problem 03/04

Hey guys,

I'm looking at buying 03/04 CBR600RR.. I've been doing my research and see threads stating they are bullet proof if taken care off.. But I also see a lot of threads about people have issues with regulator and stator... Is this a common problem? I personally hate electrical issues... Had a Striple Triple and the stator fried... Had a lot of hassles with getting the part and then replacing it... Is this something I need to worry about?

No.

I have an 03 600rr. Bought it at 32k and am now at 40k. Not a single electrical issue or any issue for that matter. And if I remember correctly there was never a stator problem, there was, however, an issue of the regulator/rectifier overheating due to it's proximity to the exhaust. I believe they added a heat shield in later models which solved the issue. My bike came with the heat shield. If yours doesn't, buy the heat shield, or re loacte the RR.

It's not a big deal. Buy with confidence.
