Uk insurance companies recommendations

Hi all

Anyone recommend a competitive insurance firm in the UK, MCE have given me a quote of 375 but with 875 excess, closest alternative is go skippy at 599 and 375 excess.

I’ve used the various comparison sites but wonder if there are more boutique firms out there that I should try?

Cheers

Have you tried Carole Nash, Bennetts & Devitt?

I find playing around with things like annual mileage/pillion cover can sometimes lower the quote.
Joining an enthusiast club can possibly get you a discount, like BMF or the Honda Owner's Club.
Also consider doing a BikeSafe class, which can lower the premium; or full blown RoSPA or IAM qualification for a considerable chunk off.

MCE dropped to 240 in the end so I swallowed the excess and will keep my fingers crossed I don't have a prang

Nice

No-one actually claims on insurance anyway, it's always cheaper to repair things yourself and avoid the excess and massive premium hike next year.
(obviously unless you cause massive damage to something/someone else)
